Thakoon for Target and the Tiffany Blue

This past Sunday was my cousin's 21st birthday, which we've been looking forward to for weeks! My auntie had planned the entire event, picking out gifts, wrapping, and even little chocolate favors- all in a Tiffany's Blue colored theme. There were even a few pretty pieces from Tiffany's for her, too! I didn't know if I could share photos from the party without getting everyone's approval first, so I decided to show you a couple of the beautiful gifts and favors that my auntie had arranged.
The dress, which is Thakoon for Target, is a cotton, batik-print shirtdress. The colors are actually quite complicated and vivid in person, mixing dark purples into pale blues. I had picked up a belt that serendipitously ended up being complimentary to both the dress and the party colors. So matchy-matchy; I love it!

Floral and Leather

I'm in love with the Matrix color scheme of this shoot! I swear that I didn't really coordinate it, it's just that my usual white and concrete background, which was the loading gate of an abandoned lab seems to have become the hang out of the science-guys from next door. Don't get me wrong, I love a good starched-white lab coat as much as the next gal, but they've put up a makeshift basketball court, so it makes it near impossible to get a photo in. At least they're getting some exercise! As for the outfit, it's got a great grunge revival look in the photos, but the central pieces are 1970's through and through. Black fringed Minnetonka boots complete the look, but a pair of Doc Martin's would've been a sweet throwback, too. Don't you think?
Outfit Details:
Leather Jacket: BCBG
Floral Tunic: Vintage 1970's

The 60's Style Tunic Dress

Firstly, happy Mother's Day! To anyone out there who's a mom, I hope you're being spoiled silly!
I picked up this tunic/mini dress a few years ago, and simply haven't worn it enough! It's contemporary, by Juicy Couture, but it has such an adorable ruffled colar and a distinctive 1960's vibe - especially when worn over tights! I'm always intrigued by designs that have an era-centric repro look to them, they seem to either completely nail it, or miss the mark entirely. This is one of those pieces, though, that I could have some fun doing a wardrobe re-mix with.
Outfit Details:
Dress/Tunic: Juicy Couture
Denim: Seven for All Mankind
Shoes: Sam Edelman
Bracelet: Gift
Earrings: Street Vendor
Sunglasses: Moschino
