Day 18: Beige and Earth Tones

When the weather gets cold, I always seem to put up a protest. I start looking at my summer dresses, wishing there was some way I could work them into my winter wardrobe. This dress is a semi-sheer, embroidered little thing, but when layered over the right under-dress, it hardly looks as summery as it should.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Anthropologie
Cape: Melrose Street

Day 17: Lifting the Fog in Black and Blue

Around here the fog has been dense and beautiful in the morning. Everything looks surreal and soft. I pulled out this dress thinking that it suited the weather to a fault. I didn't mean to take so long on getting my outfits posted since "Black Friday", but in between traveling and the holiday weekend, it seemed nearly impossible to have a good "sit at the computer and post" moment.

Jacket: Elevenses
Dress: Moulinette Soers

Day 16: Black Friday Festive

Did you go out and shop today? There were only a few places I had to go to today, so I didn't get caught up in the craziness of Black Friday. Maybe it was totally subliminal, but as I was piling on more layers of black, I thought I was coming up with a new look: "Black Friday Festive!" Speaking of which, there's a 30% off sale in the Etsy shop that's good through Cyber Monday.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is all about comfort and cuteness because in my family, we do Thanksgiving BIG! What is a Thanksgiving dish that you can't go without? I'm eager to add new recipes to our traditional feast, and I'm curious what your favorite dishes are? So far, side dishes that I've heard it isn't T-day without are: Sweet Potato Pie, Candied Yams, Ambrosia, Buttersquash Mash, and Green Bean Casserole.

Day 14: The Cropped Beaded Sweater

Another day of separates, but this time a little more daring with my fabric combination and print choice! I love this skirt for it's basic cut and graciously high waist. After adding my favorite J.Crew Tissue Tee (if you are looking for a great basic tee, they go with everything) and layering a cozy, cropped sweater to the mix, I felt like I had to keep it soft with some traditional looking baubles. Check out the close-up of the back/shoulders of the sweater; the sewn-on embellishments are so randomly delightful!
Outfit Details:
Sweater: Cartonnier
Long Sleeve Tee: J.Crew Tissue Tee
Skirt: H&M
Bracelet: Vintage Karl Lagerfeld
Ring: Lucky
Earrings: Betsey Johnson (I know you can hardly see them, but they're monkeys!)

Day 13: 70's Inspired in Autumn Colors

I swear it is unintentional, but I must be gearing up for Thanksgiving by the looks of these colors! I was feeling in the mood for some earth-tones and 70's wear today, mostly because I wanted to wear this green sweater with it's extra-long and billowy cuffed sleeves. I picked up this pleated, wool skirt the other week with every intention of putting it in the shop, but as I was getting dressed this morning I couldn't help myself from trying it on. It just may be a keeper!
Outfit Details:
Sweater: Tabitha
Skirt: Vintage 1970's

Day 12: Bright Blue Silks

Whether it's sunny or gray out, the bright pop of teal from this old silk sweater aways makes my day! This particular scarf, which was a gift to me from a wonderfully stylish former boss, was such an uncanny match to my sweater that they ought to have been a set! Scarves are one accessory that I have a lot of, but seldom work into my outfits. Are you the same way? Sometimes I like to use a brooch to set the scarf in place, but since my hair is big and curly today, I thought it best to keep my 'toppings' to a minimum. I have naturally curly hair, and though it's more time efficient to straighten it than to leave it curly, rainy weather means it's best to let it be au natural. Anyway, it feels like I've been straightening it out way too much as of late.

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Finity Naturals
Skirt: Taikonku Anthropologie
Scarf: Gift
Brooch: 1960's Vintage Heirloom
Earrings: Banana Republic
Shoes: Impo
Tights: Betsey Johnson

Day 11: The Plaid Flannel Circle Skirt

It's winter skirt time! It's winter skirt time! I can't help but sing it because I love flannel and I have been waiting months for the right weather to suit wearing this plaid skirt. I haven't got any fancy plans aside from shop updates and the like, but there's something cozy and liberating about milling around in a well anticipated piece- no matter how simple it is.

Day 10: Inspired by the Pacific Northwest

Looking through some of my favorite blogs by ladies in the Pacific Northwest has got me inspired! Bracing myself for what's supposed to be a rainy day by layering some classic cold weather staples.  This thick, green wool sweater is new to my collection. Recently passed down to me, I'm amazed at how gorgeous and deep the green color is, and how well cared for the sweater has been, too. The plaid shirt I picked up about a month ago because I found my flannel selection seriously lacking some small checker-print. I hope you're keeping warm, wherever you are!
Outfit Details:
Sweater: Vintage 1960's
Plaid Top: Pacific Sunwear
Denim: H&M
Beret: Free People
Purse: Vintage 1970's

Day 9: Tea in the Toile 1950's Day Dress

I read somewhere that a good cotton day dress could take you into any season when paired well. I'm hoping this pale green, toile print dress will look seasonable when accented with some subtle gold and green accessories and a warm little sweater. Don't I look ready for a cup of tea and a game of cards with grandma? Well, if we're talking about my grandma, I should probably correct that to a Turkish coffee and a game of backgammon!
Outfit Details:
Dress: Vintage 1950's Forever Young, by Puritan Dress
Sweater: Abercrombie and Fitch
Purse: White House Black Market
Shoes: Charles David
Brooch: Vintage 1950's Heirloom
