Black & White Bubble Print, and the Vintage 1950's Bonnet

Summer weather is finally here, and I've been taking every opportunity to step out in a flouncy circle skirt! I'm particularly fond of the bubbly circle print throughout, it reminds me of a fizzy soda, or a vintage newspaper comic strip. I think that next time I wear the skirt, I'll be sure to pair it with a brightly colored top.

Now for my favorite piece of the ensemble. Isn't this hat just the sweetest thing? I couldn't wait for it to arrive in the post! It has this super feminine bonnet bill, and I just know it will be the perfect topper for a 'Gibson Roll' styled 'do.

A Classic, One-Button Waistcoat

 

Neutrals and browns are colors that I'm always trying to add to my closet because they go so well with denim. Today I wanted to maintain a well edited look that was inspired by fit and proportion, but was still comfortable. The waistcoat, with it's chocolate colored piping and single button closure, is slimming at the waistline and a favorite classic staple. The tall brown boots tie the color scheme together and add a fun sort of riding element to the overall look. As you can tell, I didn't have to sacrifice any mobility whatsoever!

Day 14: Soft, Like a Lambs Ear

I had to help move heavy things around today, so dressing up wasn't really going to be an option. That didn't mean, however, that I was going to let myself entirely off the hook! The outfit was pretty basic, skinny jeans tucked into work boots, paired with a ribbed, black cowl-neck sweater. The simple pallet gave me a good amount of leeway for a wonderfully soft vintage hat, and a scarf, which seemed to be just a shade paler than the cornflower blue hat. It's really a gorgeous little thing, the hat, and so soft that its texture reminds me of those 'lambs ear' plants.
