Barrel Tasting Blossoms

It's barrel tasting season out in wine country, and the weather can't be beat! I went out expecting it to be cool and chilly, but I was pleasantly surprised by the all the blossoms in bloom and sunshine goodness! With so much yummy food and libations, I sure was happy to have been in this easy, plaid dress.

The Fringed 70's Bohemian Wrap

Strolling the grounds of a local art residence, we stopped to take photos in this strange little walkway. I guess it's usually canopied in flowers and vines, but in winter the bare stalks look kind of neat! This gorgeous, vintage wrap was the perfect prescription for keeping warm and cozy. I think it may be alpaca, but it's exactly what I've been wanting to add to my closet. It's what to wear when you know you should spend sometime outdoors, but really want to keep that cozied up feeling. While we were on our little walking tour of this villa, a lady told me that she once had a wrap like this in the 70's, but used to belt it around her waist and wear it like an asymmetrical skirt. I just love that idea!

Warm Tones

I'd say this is an outfit I'd probably wear in the fall, or early spring, except you're seeing it today because it's 70 degrees out! I won't complain about the mild weather, though I think it's confusing the heck out of our neighborhood trees. They don't know whether to keep their leaves or drop them!

The Edge of Love Dress

Have you seen the film, The Edge of Love? It's the one that's loosely based on the life of Dylan Thomas. Honestly, it wasn't that great, but I stuck it out because there was a buzz at the time about the outfits worn in the flick (and of course, Cillian Murphy). I just found these photos on my hard drive and thought I'd put them up. It was a rainy day when Anja took these photos, but we wanted to channel some of that easy, seaside look.

DIY Bag Crafting Love: Part 2

I love the combination of black and red, so I had to post one more outfit/purse shot of the DIY purse photo shoot. We found a building that had these amazing bright red doors and had to pull over for a shot. This purse (and my coat-dress!) made the cover of the book! If you're a craft lover and interested in learning more about bag making, here's a link to the book.

DIY Bag Crafting Love: Part 1

About a year ago I modeled some DIY clutches, purses and totes for a local company that publishes DIY craft books. If you've got some fabric that you've been wondering what to do with, you may want to check this book out. It was a super fun day, with photography by my dear friend and photographer Christina. I'll be putting up some different pictures from the shoot over the next few weeks, but since I know a lot of you are crafty gals yourself, I thought I'd share some DIY inspiration!

Black Burnout Velvet

I have been fawning over some burnout velvet bohemian beauties on Etsy lately, and just about freaked out when I found this lovely top the other day! You'll seldom see me in all black these days, but for something this dark and mysterious I think the look is a must. By the way, as Google Friend Connect is going away, won't you add me to your Bloglovin' Blogroll? You can do so by clicking on the Bloglovin' icon on the left.

Day 25: My Best Joan Holloway Outfit

Anyone else going through Mad Men withdrawals? I totally am! We're going out to dinner with some friends tonight and I wanted to wear something unique, effortless and chic, so I pulled out this amazing Mr. Blackwell wiggle dress that I've been on the fence about adding to the shop. I can't deny that it makes me feel like I'm wearing something straight out of Joan Holloway's jewel-tone wardrobe. I'll probably be walking with her swagger all night, too!

Day 24: The Green Space Age MOD Dress

Hey! Has anybody out there seen any dresses like these online? I am totally looking for more cute silk shantung, or space-age, mod, Jackie O', party dresses. They're so adorable, and really quite easy year-round cocktail dresses. Speaking of which, I'm off to an early afternoon Christmas soiree, but had to share this amazing dress that I picked up on Etsy. The shop owner was a pleasure to do business with and was so patient with all of my sizing questions, I just had to give her shop a shout out!

Day 23: Black and Gold

It's been sunny enough to run around in a coton dress, layered with sweater tights and a jacket, of course! I've been dying to get these sunglasses turned into prescription sunglasses, but have been at a loss to find a local optician who will keep the awesome shade gradient the same. Off to see if I can squeeze in some quick Christmas shopping, so I'll keep this quick. Oh, I have to tell you that I have some amazing winter coats to put up tomorrow; You'll see I was totally inspired by the 70's!

Day 22: Strolling San Francisco in MOD!

Taking a quick walk through Laurel Heights, I had to snap up a few quick photos of my totally MOD outfit! I just got this navy and red, color-block, scooter dress after totally being inspired by this fabulous two-piece from Bombshell Bettie's Vintage, which was just a little too small for me. Since I wanted to re-create a two-piece look, I thought that this 60's winter coat was the perfect piece to compliment the pop of color and the "British Invasion" vibe.

Coat: Vintage 1960's
Dress: Vintage 1960s from Ebay

Day 21: Purple Cashmere Blend

Today's plan was to go vintage shopping in the city, so with all the changing I had anticipated I knew I had to keep the outfit simple. Since a sweater dress is the perfect chilly weather staple, I only added tights and a pair of boots and was out the door in no time! This particular sweater dress is beyond comfortable. It is the teensiest bit cashmere, so the extra softness, in addition to warmth is much appreciated.

Day 20: All in Play

I was up to a super fun project this weekend, and I promise to post more on it next week. Since I'm usually out of the house on the weekends, it gets kind of hard to keep up with the usual outfit posts, so the only time I got to really snap some photos was on a camera phone while I was out running errands with my sister. Pardon the total candidness of the photos- when we get together we're total hams! We were trying to find some cute little stocking stuffers for all the children we'll be seeing this Christmas.
I decided to decorate her...
She gave me a new "beaver stole"...

Dress: Vintage 1980's from Etsy
Jacket: Vintage 1960's

Day 19: Cropped Tuxedo Waistcoat

I've been seeing so many photos posted from the Tweed Run in London,  that it had me inspired to put together the sort of girly outfit that I could ride a bicycle in.  I know, there isn't any tweed in my outfit, that's where I'll have to give this  outfit a second shot, but there is a perfectly fine, vintage woolen cap! Also, you know what makes this waistcoat a keeper? It has a sewn in ascot tie, which matches all the buttons on the coat!

Day 18: Beige and Earth Tones

When the weather gets cold, I always seem to put up a protest. I start looking at my summer dresses, wishing there was some way I could work them into my winter wardrobe. This dress is a semi-sheer, embroidered little thing, but when layered over the right under-dress, it hardly looks as summery as it should.

Dress: Anthropologie
Cape: Melrose Street

Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Day 17: Lifting the Fog in Black and Blue

Around here the fog has been dense and beautiful in the morning. Everything looks surreal and soft. I pulled out this dress thinking that it suited the weather to a fault. I didn't mean to take so long on getting my outfits posted since "Black Friday", but in between traveling and the holiday weekend, it seemed nearly impossible to have a good "sit at the computer and post" moment.

Jacket: Elevenses
Dress: Moulinette Soers
