Day 30: Silver Bells Christmas Dress

I've only just realized that I haven't shared any photos of my Christmas Tree or Decorations this year, so I decided to share a photo of one of our sweet little decorative trees (which just so happens to match my dress!). We have a modest little faux-tree, standing tall at just about 4 feet, which I'll be sure to share some photos tomorrow, but in the meantime here's a preview of what I'll be wearing tonight. It's a beautiful early 60's, silver and gold, brocade dress. I've only added one little crinoline underneath for a tiny bit of pouf, but I'm curious if by the end of this post I'll have swapped it out for a crinoline that's twice the size. Feel free to tell me if I need more pouf...I will be needing to hide the enormous dinner I plan on having tonight!

Day 29: Blue and Gold in Tori Burch

I promise I won't step out without a sweater or a coat...I just don't know which one I'll wear yet:) I just love the color blue, and I try to work it into as many outfits as possible. This amazing 'modern shift dress' was something I picked up in the spring, and when I opened my closet doors this morning I found it hanging between a bunch of dresses that had come back from the dry cleaners quite some time ago. I've been talking a lot about jewel tones this month, but I think deep, rich colors, like navy, red or green are fabulous year round.

Day 28: The 1960's Knit Wool Winter Shift Dress

I couldn't begin to tell you how in love I've been with simple shift dresses this winter! They've been perfect for keeping warm and stylish this season. It's probably also why I've been picking up so many 1960's shift dresses for the shop! Since the cut and color of the dress were so easy to work with, I imagine I could've thrown on any accessory and been right on track, but I decided to go with pearl accented pieces.

Day 27: The 1960's Green Velveteen Christmas Dress

Having been out sick for the greater part of the past two weeks, I wanted to try and get back to my early morning routine. Last year I wore this dress for Christmas Eve, and it was a smash hit! I don't know why I didn't post any photos of the front of the dress then, but since I want to look festive and pretty ( as opposed to lazy and sniffly), I thought I'd wear it today. It's amazing how dressing up a little more than usual can really lift your spirits! The fascinator is new to me, it's from the same wonderful heap of family vintage that I was gifted a couple of months ago. I didn't know if I'd like the floral fascinator look on me, but I think it actually goes with the dress quite nicely.

Dress: Vintage 1960's Velveteen Dress from The Witchery Vintage (They are lovely gals, btw!)
Flower Fascinator: Vintage 1950's from family

Day 26: The Black Vintage Teddy Girl Wiggle Dress

Eeek!! I came across the most perfect black cotton wiggle dress! It is quite a form fitting little number, but it has this rebellious feel - and kind of has a Teddy Girl look. Oh, and making an appearance again is that sweet vintage beret I was given a month or so back.
Outfit Details:

Day 25: My Best Joan Holloway Outfit

Anyone else going through Mad Men withdrawals? I totally am! We're going out to dinner with some friends tonight and I wanted to wear something unique, effortless and chic, so I pulled out this amazing Mr. Blackwell wiggle dress that I've been on the fence about adding to the shop. I can't deny that it makes me feel like I'm wearing something straight out of Joan Holloway's jewel-tone wardrobe. I'll probably be walking with her swagger all night, too!
Outfit Details:

Day 24: The Green Space Age MOD Dress

Hey! Has anybody out there seen any dresses like these online? I am totally looking for more cute silk shantung, or space-age, mod, Jackie O', party dresses. They're so adorable, and really quite easy year-round cocktail dresses. Speaking of which, I'm off to an early afternoon Christmas soiree, but had to share this amazing dress that I picked up on Etsy. The shop owner was a pleasure to do business with and was so patient with all of my sizing questions, I just had to give her shop a shout out!

Day 23: Black and Gold

It's been sunny enough to run around in a coton dress, layered with sweater tights and a jacket, of course! I've been dying to get these sunglasses turned into prescription sunglasses, but have been at a loss to find a local optician who will keep the awesome shade gradient the same. Off to see if I can squeeze in some quick Christmas shopping, so I'll keep this quick. Oh, I have to tell you that I have some amazing winter coats to put up tomorrow; You'll see I was totally inspired by the 70's!
Outfit Details:
Cropped Moto Jacket: BCBG
Square and Circle Bangle Bracelets: BCBG

Day 22: Strolling San Francisco in MOD!

Taking a quick walk through Laurel Heights, I had to snap up a few quick photos of my totally MOD outfit! I just got this navy and red, color-block, scooter dress after totally being inspired by this fabulous two-piece from Bombshell Bettie's Vintage, which was just a little too small for me. Since I wanted to re-create a two-piece look, I thought that this 60's winter coat was the perfect piece to compliment the pop of color and the "British Invasion" vibe.
Outfit Details:
Coat: Vintage 1960's
Dress: Vintage 1960s from Ebay
Tights: Hue
Shoes: Tommy Hilfiger

Day 21: Purple Cashmere Blend

Today's plan was to go vintage shopping in the city, so with all the changing I had anticipated I knew I had to keep the outfit simple. Since a sweater dress is the perfect chilly weather staple, I only added tights and a pair of boots and was out the door in no time! This particular sweater dress is beyond comfortable. It is the teensiest bit cashmere, so the extra softness, in addition to warmth is much appreciated.
Dress: Banana Republic
Boots: Target
Tights: Hue

Day 20: All in Play

I was up to a super fun project this weekend, and I promise to post more on it next week. Since I'm usually out of the house on the weekends, it gets kind of hard to keep up with the usual outfit posts, so the only time I got to really snap some photos was on a camera phone while I was out running errands with my sister. Pardon the total candidness of the photos- when we get together we're total hams! We were trying to find some cute little stocking stuffers for all the children we'll be seeing this Christmas.
I decided to decorate her...
She gave me a new "beaver stole"...

My Outfit Details:
Dress: Vintage 1980's from Etsy
Jacket: Vintage 1960's
Purse: Halston

Day 19: Cropped Tuxedo Waistcoat

I've been seeing so many photos posted from the Tweed Run in London,  that it had me inspired to put together the sort of girly outfit that I could ride a bicycle in.  I know, there isn't any tweed in my outfit, that's where I'll have to give this  outfit a second shot, but there is a perfectly fine, vintage woolen cap! Also, you know what makes this waistcoat a keeper? It has a sewn in ascot tie, which matches all the buttons on the coat!
Outfit Details:
Dress: Etsy
Jacket: Marc Jacobs
Tights: Betsey Johnson
Shoes: Impo
Hat: Vintage

Day 18: Beige and Earth Tones

When the weather gets cold, I always seem to put up a protest. I start looking at my summer dresses, wishing there was some way I could work them into my winter wardrobe. This dress is a semi-sheer, embroidered little thing, but when layered over the right under-dress, it hardly looks as summery as it should.

Dress: Anthropologie
Cape: Melrose Street
Tights: Target
Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Day 17: Lifting the Fog in Black and Blue

Around here the fog has been dense and beautiful in the morning. Everything looks surreal and soft. I pulled out this dress thinking that it suited the weather to a fault. I didn't mean to take so long on getting my outfits posted since "Black Friday", but in between traveling and the holiday weekend, it seemed nearly impossible to have a good "sit at the computer and post" moment.
Outfit Details:
Jacket: Elevenses
Dress: Moulinette Soers

Day 16: Black Friday Festive

Did you go out and shop today? There were only a few places I had to go to today, so I didn't get caught up in the craziness of Black Friday. Maybe it was totally subliminal, but as I was piling on more layers of black, I thought I was coming up with a new look: "Black Friday Festive!" Speaking of which, there's a 30% off sale in the Etsy shop that's good through Cyber Monday.
Outfit Details:
Jacket: BCBG
Dress: Vintage 1970's Skater Dress
Purse: Halston

I'm eager to add new recipes to our traditional feast, and I'm curious what your favorite dishes are? Day 14: The Cropped Beaded Sweater

Another day of separates, but this time a little more daring with my fabric combination and print choice! I love this skirt for it's basic cut and graciously high waist. After adding my favorite J.Crew Tissue Tee (if you are looking for a great basic tee, they go with everything) and layering a cozy, cropped sweater to the mix, I felt like I had to keep it soft with some traditional looking baubles. Check out the close-up of the back/shoulders of the sweater; the sewn-on embellishments are so randomly delightful!
Outfit Details:
Sweater: Cartonnier

Day 13: 70's Inspired in Autumn Colors

I swear it is unintentional, but I must be gearing up for Thanksgiving by the looks of these colors! I was feeling in the mood for some earth-tones and 70's wear today, mostly because I wanted to wear this green sweater with it's extra-long and billowy cuffed sleeves. I picked up this pleated, wool skirt the other week with every intention of putting it in the shop, but as I was getting dressed this morning I couldn't help myself from trying it on. It just may be a keeper!
